David Harbour, the Stranger Things star, sold his New York loft for $2.7 million in an off-market deal in August 2025, according to a report from the New York Post. This sale occurred just two months before the release of his ex-wife Lily Allen‘s album West End Girl, which fans speculate includes a song about the loft.
The loft, a one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom co-op, was initially purchased by Harbour for $2 million in September 2017.

Harbour had enlisted Kyle O’Donnell of Gramercy Design to transform the 1,400-square-foot former wagon wheel factory into a modern-day condo.
Harbour said of the space before the transformation, “It didn’t look like much…The floors were uneven, there was crappy drywall…It was just a crazy space that clearly hadn’t been touched since the ’70s.”
After 10 months of renovations, the apartment’s new layout consists of a spacious living room and an open office area, with architectural details from the factory, including metal bolts once used to hang tools for building wagon wheels.
The loft was sold allegedly before Allen released her song, with a source claiming Harbour “lost money” after factoring in what he spent on renovations.
In October 2025, the estranged couple also listed their shared Brooklyn townhouse in Carroll Gardens, which they sold in April 2026 for $7 million.
The Carroll Gardens brownstone was one of two properties the couple owned together.
According to the New York Post, Harbour rushed to sell the loft before the song’s release.
Harbour‘s decision to sell the loft may have been influenced by the impending release of Allen‘s album.
The sale of the loft was a private transaction, with details only recently emerging.
Sold Before the Song’s Release
The timing of the sale, just two months before the release of West End Girl, has raised eyebrows among fans and observers.
A source close to the matter claims that Harbour was keen to offload the property quickly.
This sale marks the end of Harbour‘s ownership of the Nolita loft, which he had owned since 2017.
A Quick Sale
The speed of the sale may have been motivated by Harbour‘s desire to avoid any potential fallout from the song’s release.
It’s worth looking at the numbers: the loft was sold for $2.7 million, a significant amount, but perhaps not as high as Harbour had hoped, given the renovations he invested in.
In any case, the sale of the loft is now a done deal, and Harbour has moved on from the property.
On a related note, the New York City real estate market has been experiencing a slowdown in recent months, with some sellers struggling to find buyers.
At 9:45 AM on a typical Monday, the New York City real estate scene is already bustling with activity.
Meanwhile, Harbour is focusing on his acting career, with several projects in the works.
As for Allen, her album West End Girl has been making waves, with fans speculating about the inspiration behind the songs.
One thing is certain: the sale of the Nolita loft marks the end of an era for Harbour and Allen.
